How it works

Answer the disclosure questions and email us your certificate and supplier documents. If you serve alcohol, stop here: we do not list venues that serve alcohol.

We read each document, open the certifier’s register where one exists, and record what we could and could not confirm. Target: published within 5 working days of complete evidence.

Your profile goes live at a short, stable address. It appears in the directory and, where relevant, in the city guide.

You get a QR code and a print kit. We remind you before a certificate expires and re-check on any change. The page never disappears while printed codes circulate.

A profile is not halal certification. HalalCodeCheck does not certify, inspect premises or issue religious rulings.
The status badge is HalalCodeCheck’s own assessment of the evidence. The fee buys review work and placement. It never changes the status.
What the business reports and what HalalCodeCheck confirmed are stored and shown separately, with a label on every row. Neither edits the other.
“Document supplied” means the details on record match the file. Only “Issuer confirmed” means we matched the document to the certifier’s register or written confirmation.
Questions
HalalCodeCheck found the certificate on the certifier’s own public register, or holds written confirmation from the issuer, and recorded the date and reviewer. Where no register exists, a certificate can only reach “Document supplied”, and the profile status can only be “Business-confirmed”, never “Certified”.
No. The status follows the published methodology and the evidence on the checked date. A paying business with an expired certificate shows “Status unclear” until a renewal is supplied.
No. HalalCodeCheck does not list venues that serve or permit alcohol. The intake form asks this first and stops there.
You get reminders 60, 30 and 7 days before. On the expiry date the document moves to “Historical” and the status changes to “Status unclear” until you supply the renewal. The page stays up.
The page never returns a 404, because printed QR codes keep circulating. It shows a neutral “profile paused; evidence not currently maintained” notice with the last checked date for 12 months, then a plain historical notice.
Uploaded files are private by default. Only the details you approve for publication appear on the page. We never publish raw file links.
Yes. Every profile has a “Report a concern” link that businesses, certifiers and customers can use. Disputed items show as “Under review” until resolved.
Payments are taken by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle adds VAT or sales tax at checkout and shows prices in your local currency. Prices here are in US dollars, ex-tax. Cancel any time from the billing portal.
