The catch: Costco publishes no halal meat policy, no halal range list, and no store-by-store availability. Everything rests on what is printed on the pack in front of you. Does Costco UK Sell Halal Meat?

What we can verify: Costco UK’s own website (checked July 2026) lists halal-flagged packaged meat snacks — Halami kabanos in beef and chicken, described on Costco’s listings as made to halal dietary standards — but does not publish a fresh halal meat range or policy for its warehouses.

What shoppers find in-store: halal-labelled fresh chicken and lamb do appear at some UK warehouses, typically in areas with large Muslim communities. Availability rotates, differs between warehouses, and can disappear without notice. Costco responds to local demand rather than running a national halal programme — the same pattern as its US warehouses.

What this means in practice: treat every pack as unverified until you have read it. Three things to check:

3. The word “halal” alone is not enough. A “halal” flash without a named certifier is a claim, not a certification. Ask which body certified it, or put it back.

Call before you drive. A Costco trip is rarely a quick pop-in. Ring your local warehouse’s fresh meat department and ask specifically whether they currently stock halal-certified chicken or lamb and under which certifier. The Membership Question

A search of costco.co.uk (July 2026) turns up a consistent cluster of halal-flagged packaged products. Costco’s listings describe these as halal or halal-certified — note that where the listing does not name the certifying body, you should still check the pack itself for the logo:

• Halami kabanos, beef and chicken (500g) — dry-cured snack sausages made to halal standards per Costco’s listing. A rare bulk halal option in the snacking aisle.
• CJ Foods gochujang paste — flagged halal-certified on the listing. Korean export certification is typically KMF; the jar is where you confirm it.
